Getting to Know You and Your Dreams
At Living Through Experiences Therapy, we understand how low self-esteem can turn your inner voice into your harshest critic. It’s easy to focus on what feels wrong or not enough, while losing sight of your strengths, values, and accomplishments. When self-worth takes a hit, it’s common to act or speak based on how we think others perceive us rather than from a place of authenticity. This disconnect often leads to anxiety, self-doubt, and a lingering sense of discomfort within.
We live in a world that constantly pushes idealized images of success and perfection. Women are often pressured to meet unrealistic beauty standards to feel lovable or accepted. Mothers may feel judged if they don’t follow a certain parenting style. Many people struggle to juggle career and family, feeling like they have to be exceptional in one area to feel worthy in another.
Despite your best efforts to meet expectations, it’s easy to feel like you’re always falling short. Over time, this can chip away at your confidence and sense of pride, especially when your attention is fixed on perceived flaws or failures. That inner voice might begin to whisper, "I’m not enough."
Social media often intensifies these feelings, flooding your feed with curated images and messages about how you should look, act, and speak. The constant comparison can feel exhausting and discouraging.
Living Through Experiences Therapy’s focus is on cultivating self-love and helping you reconnect with who you truly are. Rather than chasing unrealistic ideals, we’ll gently shift toward honoring your values, strengths, and individuality. Together, we’ll explore ways to strengthen your self-esteem and confidence in a space that is warm, supportive, and free of judgment.
My Approach
I believe there's no such thing as a perfect person. We all walk different paths, and my goal isn't to shape you into what society expects, but rather to help you recognize and embrace your own unique strengths and successes.
Together, we'll delve into how you see yourself and pinpoint the areas where your self-esteem might be suffering. This will allow us to customize our sessions to meet your specific needs, whether it's boosting your confidence in your appearance, fostering your ability to make decisions independently, or reinforcing the choices you've already made.
I'm here to help you challenge the external messages that feed into your low self-esteem. Through techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), we'll tackle the negative beliefs, doubts, and anxieties that cloud your self-view, enabling you to see yourself in a new light across different situations. You'll learn to approach your challenges with confidence instead of fear.
You may feel far from confident right now, but through therapy, you can start to see yourself differently. With patience and practice, you'll learn to love yourself without seeking validation from others and feel assured in the choices you make.
